Rates & Tariffs
Natural gas rates, explained
Your gas bill has two main parts: the cost of the gas itself, which we pass through without markup, and the delivery charge that funds the pipes, crews, and safety work.
Service Classifications
Every customer is billed under a service class that matches how they use gas. Figures below are illustrative for this concept.
| Service Class | Who It Serves | Monthly Basic Charge | Delivery Rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Residential Heating | Homes and apartments using gas for heat | $21.00 | Tiered per therm |
| Residential Non-Heating | Cooking and hot water only | $16.00 | Tiered per therm |
| General Service | Small businesses and mixed-use buildings | $32.00 | Seasonal per therm |
| Large Volume | Commercial and industrial facilities | Contract | Negotiated / tariffed |
Concept demo — values are illustrative and do not represent any actual utility's tariff.
Supply Charge
The market cost of the gas you use, passed through at our cost. This portion changes with wholesale prices and season.
Delivery Charge
The regulated charge that funds mains, meters, leak surveys, and emergency response — set through public rate proceedings.
Tariff Documents
The full tariff — service classes, riders, and addenda — is a public document. Current rate summaries live on our rates page.
